Enough.

People who consistently defend and excuse anti-Semitism on their own side don't get to use it as a club again their political opponents
Dean brings up the lack of Republicans calling out Trump and compares it to the reactions to Omar, but fails to account for his own response to Omar's anti-Semitism.

Which, as seen below, mostly consisted of a series of various whataboutist defenses.
Anti-Semitism is a serious issue for some of us. Not an excuse for people who clearly don't care about it to selectively use as a weapon against their political opponents.
Trump has at various times invoked offensive stereotypes and tropes. When he does it, he should be called out (& people like me have done so). His speech to the RJC in 2015 was particularly worthy of condemnation.
And that might be a reason why Trump should get less leeway, but I think the attacks on his speech last night are a reach. Some of the things being cited ("you have to vote for me to keep your wealth") is stuff he has said to quite a few audiences.
Obviously I cringe at his tendency to draw on stereotypes, but tone is also important. There is a big difference between him joking with the audience (even if some of those jokes are offensive) and someone who uses those stereotypes with malice.
in any case, I am happy to call out Trump and people on the right when they cross that line. But the people who consistently diminish and excuse malicious bigotry on their own side can go ahead and sit this one out.
Yes, I agree. He was referring to specific people he knew there. I saw usual suspects cut the clip to start at the “you’re brutal killers” line to create a false impression he was referring to Jews.
