We are reacting to the #UNFCCC text and stocktake now. 
It would be a betrayal of people around the world, suffering from the impacts & those that are calling for action. The 🇨🇱presidency had 1 job, protect the integrity of the Paris agreement & not allow it to be torn apart by cynicism & greed. Right now it is failing. @climatemorgan
@mohadow: At the very least, we want to see revived the enhancements to the NDCs. If that doesn't come through, it will have failed. The second thing that is most important for this process is that we don't undermine the environmental integrity of the deal.
They are now creating new tools that would undermine the little ambition we have. We have put the world in a path to 3.2, and now going to add a lot of hot air that will actually effectively increase emissions by 0.1 degrees Celsius.
@aldenmeyer: I've been attending these climate negotiations since they first started in 1991. I've never seen the almost total disconnection we've seen here at COP25 between what the science requires & the people, the world demand, and what the climate negotiators are delivering.
The planet is on fire and our window of escape is getting harder and harder to reach the longer we fail to act. Ministers here must strengthen the final decision to respond to the mounting impacts devastating communities and ecosystems, all over the world, failure is unacceptable
@harjeet11: USA is holding the progress on loss and damage finance hostage just because it is interested in only covering its own administration and polluting industries. Whatever little progress we made is also stuck because of the bullying and blocking that has happened.
The United States, joined by European Union, Australia and Canada are responsible for this bullying. It seems we are going to leave this COP with no support for people, leaving them on their own. Ambition cannot happen without finance.
We don't see any progress on finance coming in. We can't just keep calling for ambition from developing countries without putting money on the table. This place is for global justice, not for workshops and reports, we have to act so that we can respond to the climate emergency.
@ulriikkaaarnio: The Article 6 text is unaccepted, there is no option for not carrying over Kyoto units to the new regime, and this would undermine the little ambition that we have in the industry.
Instead of coming here and improving our targets, what countries would end up doing is even slice out the little ambition that there is. So what we're what we're now calling for countries, is to reject the text as it is and continue negotiations as a whole.
We don't think that this text can be a basis for a decent outcome here, and this message is particularly to the EU. There is a long standing position from the EU not to accept any carry over, units to the new regime. We call on them, especially VP Timmermans to reject this.
@duycks In Paris governments comited to respect human rights in climate action that they are implementing here. In the article 6 text that we have seen this morning, there is no section that would protect local communities against human rights abuses in the name of climate action
What we call on parties here is to reject any text on Article 6 is that would fail to meet the most basic human rights. The most appalling thing in this text that we need to provision for this absence of human rights to be revised in 2028.
To start the conversation in 2028 on whether governments have done sufficient damage to local communities and indigenous peoples in the name of Paris, you know, this is something that must be rejected. It is disgraceful for governments toeven put such steps on the table.
