A thought re: impeachment.

What if the reason for impeachment is not so much about trying to smear Trump, but an intentional sabotaging of impeachment?

What if, and hear me out here, the Dems are running impeachment into the ground in order to protect future presidents?
Bill Clinton literally stuck cigars into interns.

Obama was one of the most constitution-flouting presidents in modern history, and before we see the end we'll have hard evidence that he bent over for the Mullahs in all sorts of ways we didn't know of before.
What happens if we have a future Democrat president who goes far beyond even these scandals into true authoritarianism?

"Trump was an authoritarian too, so we can be and its fine!" They will proclaim.

"You can't impeach us, your own words are that impeachment is partisan!"

General Flynn had a judge who was friends with the FBI agent investigating him, signed off on the FISA targeting the Trump campaign, later recused, his lawyer was a codefendant in a related case...

But because he was shanghai’d into a plea he loses due process?

The representation he was relying upon for sound legal counsel was comprised to the level that a disbarment is warranted, and it was compromised by the SAME FUCKING PROSECUTORS...

1) McConnell says Trump will have control of impeachment.

Graham says he wants the trial short and sweet, just tossing it.

Both are on our side.

Let me put it in perspective:

Who are they talking to when they say this?
2) Graham has always spoken to the left. He’s one of the token republicans the MSM will talk to.

“Oh gee, I sure hope they don’t drag this out too long now, we gotta heal the nation like you dems are saying we will.”

The Senate judiciary has no authority in impeachment trials.
3) Graham is telling them exactly what they want to hear to get them to vote for impeachment, to push for a vote. They want to campaign on a fast senate dismissal so they can protect and take senate seats in 2020. That’s the left’s game. A long trial hurts them.

I'm the survivor of an in-person death threat against me & my family, from a MAGA extremist who hated me just for who I am—I fear him or another carrying out those threats.

I'm an attorney—I fear the erosion of the rule of law.
I'm a patriot—I fear Russian interference in the 2020 election.

I'm a voting rights advocate—I fear a system is currently being created that will lead to permanent minority rule, & that that minority will use political power to permanently restricts the rights of the majority.

A note on #impeachment -

In a court of law, under non-presidential circumstances, impeachment is a tool litigation attorneys use to discredit the opposing side's witnesses at trial. When said witness takes the stand under oath attys. present evidence contrary to what the witness
claims. This weakens the other side's case by discrediting impeached witnesses's testimony. Once a witness has been impeached - by presentment of inconsistent testimony - the judge/jury can no longer use the impeached witnesses's testimony in reaching a verdict.
Simply put, they aren't trustworthy. In the case of Presidential impeachment that broad definition of impeachment applies, but the impeachment tool is used for a very different purpose. Under the Constitution, a sitting President cannot be tried in a court of law for anything.

There's no denying that #impeachment talk has accelerated over the past few months. But I'm not convinced that this past week was really such a Rubicon when considered in broader perspective, or that a handful of well-argued essays in liberal magazines are the drivers of change.
