This is a really good time to remind everybody just how critical the US AN/TPY-2 radar in Kurecik, Turkey is to NATO BMD.

There is not a single radar in Europe that NATO BMD is more depended on.

Loosing the AN/TPY-2 radar site in Kurecik would be a disaster t NATO BMD.
@ianwilliams1383 from @Missile_Defense wrote this magnificant article on this topic not too long ago.

Time to start thinking about which alternatives NATO has to the Kurecik radar site.

This is a really good thread on how to defend against drones and missiles.

There are, however, a couple of comments I would like to make to emphasize some of the challenges but also highlight some more capabilities and systems we have.
First of all, there are significantly more systems, that can defend against cruise missiles, than @DuitsyWasHere includes in his thread. A couple of examples below, but that's probably not even a complete list since I am only including missile based interceptors.
@DuitsyWasHere Patriot has been discussed frequently and that system, obviously has capability to defend against cruise missiles. Now, @luke_j_obrien has written som excellent threads on the fact, that Patriot includes different interceptors, some of which are better than other.

"Aegis Ashore (AA) is equipped with Mk41 VLS that can fire Tomahawk missiles and therefore in violation of the INF treaty".

While true that Mk41 can fire Tomahawk, it doesn't mean that AA in Europe can fire Tomahawk.

This thread will try to explain what the Mk41 is - and isn't.
Caveat: All information in this thread is based on open sources.
Someone might have questions that exceed what can be found in open sources, and since I don't want to go to jail, I will not be answering those questions.
What most people don't realize is that launching a missile is done in cooperation between the Mk41 and the weapon system. In AA, the weapon system is Aegis, but in other navies it could also be another weapon system

Without the weapon system, it is impossible to launch a missile

Men hvad er problemet ved at købe S400 egentlig?

2) S400 kan ikke samarbejde med NATOs øvrige luft- og missilforsvarssystemer.

F35 er fyldt med ny teknologi, herunder lav radarsignatur (stealth), der skal gøre flyet "usynligt" for radaren i systemer, præcis som S400.

Andrew, Asha is advancing the claim that the FISA Court can eschew verification of allegations in a FISA warrant **if** the person who spoke to the actual 2nd & 3rd hand non-eyewitnesses is a "trusted source".
I seem to recall several columns Andrew wrote at @NRO where he explained at length and in great detail as a former prosecutor in terrorist cases where FISA warrants played a heavy role, just how absurd this claim is.

Judge clearly wants to know why after the interview, the agents tell Comy Flynn didn't lie to them, showed no signs of deception, which Comey told Congress in his own testimony, and then SEVEN MONTHS LATER a report gets filed alleging perjury.

Flynn is being told to sumbit the the originals of the documents referenced in his filing yesterday [or copies, if all he got were copies], and at the same time, the gov't lawyers - Mueller's team - are being ordered to submit the gov'ts version of these docs.
The originals and the copies, they had BETTER match each other....
