Makes it hard for the country to move on if the government is obsessed with continually winning the battle they have now won

Worst thing, one suspects many in government will be happy that so many of us are criticising enshrining end 2020 for trade deal or not. Independent voices are not to be encouraged, only experts who follow the line are welcome
If you're a UK business dependent on international trade the continuing insistence on headlines over substance in negotiations can only be highly depressing.

Trump playbook unfortunately.
Also, direction of travel is US FTA over EU FTA. Either makes the other less likely, so if the first is prioritised the second may well not happen. Though even the voice of US-UK business would prioritise UK-EU over UK-US. **** business.

I have an article on the way on level playing field measures, but in short we don't get anything in return for adopting minimum labour and environment standards in trade agreements. They are prerequisites without which no trade agreement.
And - spoiler alert - the US also has level playing field measures you have to agree to get a trade agreement with them. And you don't get anything back in return other than the privilege of a trade agreement.

Four years of Brexit bickering means we have a big problem of trust which a big Conservative majority doesn't remove - leave ultras who think business asks of close EU relations are just remain in a new form, business struggling to see any upside in NZ, Aus, US trade deals
The government has given itself little time to make the many decisions on the politics and economics of the UK that are inherent in trade deals. Every sign is that the impacts won't be well considered with obvious risk (Withdrawal Agreement / Northern Ireland the precedent)

So many people so certain of the future UK-EU relationship model, and in different directions. Probably a good time to point out that trade agreements and relations are big messy things and it is quite conceivable over time we align in some areas and are distant in others
Also, that trade relationships and agreements are so complex that nobody is an expert on the entire contents (see UK-EU Withdrawal Agreement for a taster of this) and their implications for day to day trade.
In the last 24 hours I've looked at EU-Canada (CETA) and EU-Georgia text and learned something new from them even though I've looked at the first in particular many times. And that's just the text, the operations on the ground can be another matter...

Lemon_Duck starts by breaching machines over the #MSSQL service or the #SMB protocol. We'll focus on the MS-SQL flow. Once inside the machine, the attacker enables #xp_cmdshell to run shell commands. It will take only a single command line to trigger the rest of the attack.

I've given it some thought. This is how I think various Democratic candidates would be, at a hypothetical party:

1. Buttigieg walked in and immediately got into a serious discussion with Yang about co-op rules. Neither have made it past the foyer. That was an hour ago.
2. Biden is mingling, introducing himself to everyone by shaking their hand and saying sort of loudly, for no apparent reason, "So how do you know the host?"
3. Bennet starts talking to you in the bathroom line about how he almost didn't come to the party, because Star Wars was on TNT, and you smile weakly and nod, because he seems like a loser, until you realize he's just super baked and he might have more weed on him.
