Thread 3. Deconstructing #JangDongYoon. I'll stick with Sso's own words that he was "a great energizer." I mean anyone who has been obsessing on him can see that. 🤣 He is just so lively on and off cam that his energy is infectious. But I'll add that JDY is also smart, quirky,
softhearted, and a little mischievous. You can search the TTON BTS and interviews and see for yourself how he interacts with others (including animals). And here's the fun part: that man is super COMPETITIVE esp w/ attention. He himself said that he wants getting attention when
he was interviewed along w/ Sso, KTO, and the King. But a deeper look at his competitiveness can be seen at KSH and JDY's 2nd radio interview w/ JEJ. In that interview, Sso casually mentioned Shin Jae Ha and proposed that the 4 of them could meet up sometime (btw, SJH is a
mutual friend of Sso, JDY & JEJ. Sso worked w/ him in While You Were Sleeping and Page Turner). This happened after SJH sent a message about JDY's 7D personality. If you have watched the video, JDY hearing Sso mentioning another man's name left him w/ unbelieving eyes and
he fell back to his chair (w/c is a sign of resignation) then clapped dispiritedly. Woah. Our guy doesn't even want to hear another man's name esp from Sso. This is further supported by how he reacts when Sso is asked who she likes better between JDY and KTO. In all cases, JDY
would assert Sso will choose him, even going as far that this is true in real life. I'll discuss in another thread how this affects his relationship w/ Sso. Anyway, this competitive streak isn't really bad, in fact it actually reflects how CONFIDENT JDY is. This is what really
piques my interest. Y'all our guy is not just actually confident about himself, but also so so confident about his close relationship with Sso! I mean, JDY just feels so SECURE about his relationship with Sso! I can only surmise that JDY and KSH have connected on a much deeper
level (Sso revealed in an interview that she and JDY talked about many things candidly while JDY in another interview mentioned about Sso's struggles as an actress. From there I guess they've shared pretty sensitive things about themselves which is why they are so comfortable w/
each other). Hence, explains there sibling-like chemistry. What I mean by this is that they can be childish and playful and open to each other's pettiness and affection. But this does not complete JDY's picture. We have to admit that JDY can also get ROMANTIC as he can be.
JDY's romantic side is just so natural and so him that it is undeniably a lethal youthful charm anyone cannot resist. This is probably why he is also sensitive, respectful, and so softhearted and his reactions so pure. So what I really mean by JDY being romantic is his ability
to draw out his own authenticity. JDY just means what he feels. Which explains his playful and (sometimes) mischievous ways of showing affection for Sso. You can see this on the BTS where JDY and Sso were locked in prison in the 1st episode of TTON w/ JDY poking Sso with a stick.
Which is actually really interesting! It also tells a lot about JDY's initial feelings to Sso! How petty and immature can someone be? I'll be bold in my description. I believe JDY is sincere that his relationship w/ Sso was like a sibling. That was him being mature. But! JDY's
romantic side can't just hide the obvious fact that he is also overly crushing on Sso. I mean he likes Sso and completely adores her! This is evident in their radio interview w/ JEJ when JDY said that he really cherishes Sso. But with a catch. I think his admiration and crushing
on Sso is treated with some level of deference/respect. In other words, it's more of a strong platonic love with a healthy crushing on the side. JDY has really bonded w/ Sso that he genuinely feels to want to take care of her. Which makes this more intriguing. Why? Guess what.
Our guy JDY almost does this "cherishing" and "taking care" business almost EXCLUSIVELY to Sso. Yah. Talk about being cheeky. In fact, I'll just say that this JDY has a SNEAKY personality too. And I'm telling you that this sneakiness has something to do w/ Sso. I mean I've been
mentioning how this sibling relationship bet Sso and JDY have made them more open to each other. But in some peculiar way, JDY actually demands some form of exclusivity. Whahaha. If I were to adapt JDY's worldview, I'll see Sso as a close friend (platonic) but with a
I-want-to-be-selfish-with-you and be-selfish-with-me-too dynamics. Don't get me wrong. It doesn't have to point to a love interest. We can be selfish to our closest friends, right? Hahaha. And all of this has something to do w/ Sso. And this is where I'll end my analysis of JDY.
But I'll have to say that this is JDY before and during TTON. I'll discuss JDY after TTON in tandem w/ Sso. So to summarize, JDY is our pure energizer, smart and mature lad, natural charmer bcoz he's a romantic, and a confident and competitive leading man. Next up is cute Sso. 🥰
