Sorry but it’s wrong to send an impeachment to a Senate so near to a national election; for such weighty matters as this, we need to let the people decide the makeup of the Senate who will try the president.
As somebody who's been very critical of Pelosi, I'm a big fan of this move. McConnell has made it clear he won't allow a fair trial in the Senate. Perfectly appropriate to withhold it from the Senate until he's given credible assurances, including recusing himself.
They should also open new impeachment hearings on emoluments, or obstruction of justice, or election campaign fraud, or tax fraud, or border atrocities, or Russian collusion, or witness tampering, or national security breaches, or
It's always encouraging to see Democrats stop worrying about appeasing a group of people who are going to say the same false things about them no matter what they do.
Let them complain about precedent or partisanship. They've destroyed precedent. They insisted on a culture of partisanship.

Sure they'll whine if the Dems start fighting them within the political reality they themselves created—and so what?

The Republicans are a criminal conspiracy protecting a crime boss, so they shouldn't be given control of the trial.

Pelosi should do everything in her power to make it their problem.
