Media headlines: “Trump is the third president to be impeached.”

No, Trump is the *second* president to be *legitimately* impeached. The President Clinton impeachment was a farce.

1. The IC, Ken Starr, was appointed in August *1994* to investigate the Whitewater “scandal”. 1/n

2. Starr continued an investigation into Whitewater initially begun by Robert B. Fiske.
3. Responding to right-wing hysteria that the Clintons had one of their aides, Vince Foster, murdered, Starr expanded his investigation into the Foster suicide, continuing Fiske’s work. 2/n

4. Three years later, Brett Kavanaugh (yes, *that* Brett Kavanaugh 🙄) completed a 197 page report concluding that, yes, Mr. Foster had indeed committed suicide, as everyone previously had also concluded.
5. Starr went on to investigate the firing of White House travel personnel.

6. Starr investigated possible abuse by the Clinton admin. of FBI files. No crimes were found.
7. Finding nothing to tar ghe Clintons with, Starr went on to investigate legal work HRC did for the Rose law firm for Madison Guaranty, a Little Rock Savings and Loan Association. 4/n

8. In his deposition in the Paula Jones lawsuit, President Clinton denied having “sexual relations” with Monica Lewinsky. President Clinton narrowly defined “sexual relations” as excluding oral sex.
9. Finally, Starr had a crime with which the GOP could impeach President Clinton!

10. In all, Starr spent five years in the role of Independent Counsel, and three years investigating President Clinton, finally catching him in a lie over an episode of consensual sex with another adult.

11. And @realDonaldTrump has the gall to call the investigation over his collusion with Russia and extortion of Ukraine a “witch hunt”. The investigation of President Clinton by the @GOP crazies was the original “witch hunt”. 7/7
