Not to mention that they are spinning it as being about the abuse journalists receive.

It's true: they are subject to some truly vile abuse. There's no denying that many people go way, way too far in attacking them (and make it personal rather than focus on the stories).
But it's not happening in a vacuum. The underlying bias problem is real. It exists.

It doesn't *justify* the abuse. Nothing does.

But it needs to be tackled as a problem in and of itself.

Recoiling against "those nasty Twitter people" doesn't accomplish that.
But there is another issue: if journalists aren't on Twitter and the Tories succeed in banning the use of the word "Brexit" in the civil service after 31 January 2020, then the general public will lose awareness of the unfolding, ongoing disaster.
