I don't know if our politicians are right to think our citizens are absolute idiots or not...

Blatantly lying on a topic that will obviously be fact checked and the lie torn to shreds can mean only one thing, they just don't care! They know fact checks don't reach their voters.

The blatant disregard for the truth is now part of the strategy. This should scare each and every one of us!

The fact check articles, old tweets and videos of HM, RM, statements of Ministries are all flooding my timeline, but this sadly is irrelevant...

A politician of the stature and ruthlessness of our PM would only blatantly lie when he knows it's of political benefit for the lie to spread and the truth doesn't matter.

Saw this in Karnataka, on a statement about Bhagat Singh's jail term - a distraction tactic.

Saw it in Aadhaar where false promises were made to the people and to the Supreme Court and the parliament, an infrastructure built and then executed exactly in the way intended by the bosses.

NRC is a polarizing issue, and it riles up the core BJP cadre and voters...

It's obvious that it'll be used for political benefit. It's also obvious that throwing Muslims out of India, or at least harassing them is politically popular. A critical mass of people supports it, and the calculation seems to be that those votes are enough to win elections.

The real tragedy though is that the ruling dispensation has basically told us all that the truth doesn't matter. It's an urban, intellectual, left, liberal thing that they couldn't care less about.

This should scare us all! Don't get happy with your fact check tweets...

It's all about to get way worse! Expect more on the pseudo-nationalisitc, religious front because that's how they rally support and votes. Expect blatant disregard of the truth. And expect the economic situation to get way worse!

We might be entering WAY scarier times!
