Can we talk for a second about the pinnacle verse for fundamentalist Christianity when it comes to using Jesus to shit on other faith traditions?

Give it up for John 14:6. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
I can almost hear Christo-fascists salivating now. Cut and dry, right? Other religious are FUCKED. Jesus wins. Let’s all go passive-aggressively pray for people we’ve never met who are going to hell, yea?
But those of you keeping score at home know what’s up.

Say it with me: fundamentalist Christianity doesn’t know shit about the Bible.

1. The RED MAN is mad at the ORANGE MAN again. His latest "do the right thing" tweet is full of big words, veiled threats and a passage from the Bible. Let me show you what he is really saying.

2. Same tweet, different day.

BUT there is no doubt this one is full of threats. I could go in many directions with the abbreviated meanings of some of his combinations of words, but I won't bore you with that.

Let's focus in on his last line...

Uh oh, things are getting BIBLICAL. A quick search of this quote leads you to James 3:13.

What everyone should know . . .

V. TALMUDIC IMMORALITY, ASININITY AND PORNOGRAPHY:
THE REPROBATE MIND

Babies

"Baby boys may always be used as subjects for sodomy by grown men, according to the Talmud. (See Exhibit 54.)
"The Pharisaic subterfuge here is that until a child reaches sexual maturity, capable of sexual intercourse, he or she does not rank as a person, hence #Biblical laws against sodomy (pederasty) do not apply.
"Throughout the Talmud "nine years and one day" is the fictitious age of male maturity.

"They are not all Israel which are of Israel. Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, in _Isaac_ shall thy seed be called.”
"The promise in Genesis was given to Abraham 'because thou hast obeyed my voice.' Today’s Jews, as for almost 2,000 years, have not obeyed God’s voice, but have rejected and cursed Christ and make a mockery of the teachings of the Bible.
"The #OldTestament prophets, speaking infallibly and without error, thus foresaw this development, and that there would be a group called "Israel" and "Jew" which would not be the rightful heirs of Abraham.

I thought it would be fun to share my own #MICAH13 presentation with you all via Twitter – @PhDniX's excellent Twitter recaps of his talks were a major factor behind me getting on here too. This was a 20-minute talk, so: LONG thread.
This talk is about #Biblical #Aramaic, attested in the books of #Ezra and #Daniel. Scholars have long debated the linguistic background of these texts, nearly always focusing on the consonantal text. But in the case of Biblical Aramaic, that only tells you half the story.
In the Masoretic Text, differences between the consonantal text and the reading tradition are indicated by so-called qere notes. Here, 'what is written' (Aramaic: ketiv) does not match 'what is read' (Aramaic: qere). The different qere forms thus reflect the reading tradition.
