I admit: it's a fine line between showing the economic benefit EU27 citizens bring to the UK, to reassure financially vulnerable Brits that immigration isn't a threat... And simply commodifying/objectifying human beings.
"Low-value... People" is on the wrong side of that line.
I'll keep saying:
If you know that immigration is a net benefit to our economy but people at the bottom are still suffering, it's the government's job to properly distribute that benefit via taxation & supporting unions.
Blaming/dehumanising migrants instead says a lot about you.
The argument is often made that immigration puts pressure on wages in the construction sector.
A) Not black & white as we have a housing crisis.
B) If the construction sector unionised properly to avoid exploitation and ensure fair pay across the sector: no more "undercutting".
