Reading the latest from @OdysseanProject - dominiccummings.com/2020/01/02/two… ... references to Boyd & Agent based models are encouraging .. but Graham and Thiel are less so ...
... also the idea of creating deep expertise to solve fundamental issues of communication and lack of situational awareness are ... well, flawed. It's what is also behind so many project fiascos. However, in general more encouraging than not but little different from 2010.
Anyway, the clock is ticking. They have the hundred days to get plans in place and moving before the system itself starts to re-assert itself and resists.

Still, lots of good shout-outs ... I particularly like the one to DynamicLand.
... of course, my favourite line is from an earlier post of Cummings ...

"Fields make huge progress when they move from stories (e.g Icarus) and authority (e.g ‘witch doctor’) to evidence/experiment (e.g physics, wind tunnels) and quantitative models"

...
... in short, story telling is the curse of the business world invoking endless politics on who is the best story teller.

It's why I keep going on and on and on about getting away from stories and into maps including the importance of using them for both pre and post mortem.
However, if you think strategy is a field awash with endless stories and authority bias with little to no evidence ... (which it is) ... then you should really take a look at culture.

I know of no field more full of complete garbage and wishful thinking than culture.
However, on that, I'll also note Cummings' comment ... "What SW1 needs is not more drivel about ‘identity’ and ‘diversity’ from Oxbridge humanities graduates but more genuine cognitive diversity" ... looks like Dominic is putting the boot into "culture" as well.
But then, the study of culture seems to lack situational awareness, lacks context and also seems to lack any systematic mechanism of learning.

It appears to be a world of stories and vagueness, reminiscent of when I first examined the field of strategy in 2005.
