I've no objection to climate deniers having a voice on the BBC - desmog.co.uk/2020/01/06/cli… - but it must be in proportion to the science. With 97%+ of climate scientists agreeing then for 3 hrs of denial (length of Today programme), there must be 97 hrs of climate science ...
i.e. if we had an entire morning of climate denial on the Today programme, then that must be followed by an entire month of the Today programme doing nothing but having climate scientists on describing the impact based on current evidence. Things need to be kept in proportion.
It is fine and perfectly reasonable to present alternative views and even views that some find repugnant but that must be in proportion to scientific evidence, otherwise the BBC runs the risk of distortion and failing to inform the public in a fair and balanced way.
So, I look forward to hearing the Today Programme announce an entire month of nothing but climate scientists talking climate science to re-dress this imbalance they've created.
