You no longer need to be an engineer to run a software-enabled business.
Influencers on the Internet are building their own companies.

They use the Internet to connect with like-minded people and lower their customer acquisition costs.

Building an online audience is now a leading indicator of entrepreneurial success.
Marshall McLuhan once said: “First we shape our tools. Then our tools shape us.”

Likewise, the more I study the Internet, the more I think it’s more than a tool.

It’s a way of life.

Step 1: Build an Audience

People are taught to hunt down interesting people, ideas, and opportunities.

But masters of the Internet attract them.

Sharing ideas pulls in like-minded people, who double as a feedback loop to make you smarter and more interesting.
Step 2: Build a Product

Once you’ve built an audience, focus on the second step of delivering a product to them.

Nearly every service could be delivered with more joy, in a more efficient manner.

Study any industry for long enough and you’ll find opportunities to improve it.

My favorite neighborhoods in New York have the same features.

• Cars drive slowly
• Narrow streets
• Tree-lined sidewalks
• Neighborhoods are zoned for apartments and commercial use

Oh, and extra points for cobble-stone streets.

We already know how to build great cities.
I think the ultimate ideal is big cities with lots of little neighborhoods.

Big cities give you access, serendipity, and economic opportunities.

Little neighborhoods give you walkability and relationships with your neighbors.

Public transportation is the key ingredient.
Helping people move to cities is the lowest piece of low-hanging fruit in society.

But too many cities lack community, which makes people feel isolated.

As a society, we should spend much more time studying cities — and how we can make them feel homey.

Find the unique intersection of your knowledge, personality, and skills that nobody else can compete with.

Trump takes his donors' money and then uses it to smirk while his supporters chant "send her back" and he calls migrants "invaders" and "murderers".
If you're afraid you'll be shamed in public because you support a demagogic fascist, then don't.

Or just bribe him by staying at his hotels and resorts. He has them across the country.
