Methane is a greenhouse gas far more potent than carbon dioxide, and this, in turn increases the likelihood of more thawaing and more methane being released into the atmosphere.
Researchers also found that methane levels around the fountain itself were nine times higher than the national average.

Extreme heatwave coming up in Australia, with temperatures (way) above 40⁰C in the area suffering from bushfires for weeks in a row now. Still early summer there.
Australia: 724 homes, 49 facilities and 1582 outbuildings have been destroyed [in NSW] so far this fire season.
Six people have died and 2.7 million hectares have already been scorched; that's 27,000 km2, 2/3 of the total area of the Netherlands!

Visit from William Rothberg, commissioner of the tomb expedition in Cairo, 1922.
The site of the tomb is extraordinary and unlike anything we have seen before. Preparations are being made to explore the only known entrance.
The bottom entrance of the tomb is a sight to behold. We think that it may date around 2688-2180 BC. Although, we cannot say for sure at the moment.

For weeks and months, i have been tracking the arctic temperatures and the decline of the icecap.
Wondering why it was so warm , and for so long.
What is happening there? Icecap is down over 50%.
Albedo effect will be massively impacted by this.

We learned a few days ago, that scientific expedition in the east siberian arctic just found methane fountains bubbling on the sea surface , in the middle of the east siberian sea.

1/ Increasing periods of open water implies an increasing number of storm events.. Such events have the potential to rapidly ventilate bubble-transported and dissolved CH4 from the water column, producing high emission rates to the atmosphere

So I played Natural Machines in Halmstad, Sweden tonight. First time doing it on an upright Disklavier. I figured I’d have to play differently to deal with reduced dynamic range, but what I didn’t realize is that the DKV the presenter found (150km away) is the first 1/
ever made, an MX100A from 1988. Somehow there was a miscommunication, and I thought it would be an MP70, which is a much later model. So anyway, I get to the venue at 11:45am, and I look at the piano and it’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. All the midi settings I need 2/
to change in order to pilot the piano from my computer are hidden in strange menus requiring many button presses. One of the essential functions, turning the 0.5 sec delay off, is nowhere to be seen, and stranger still, every time I send the DKV a note from my computer, 3/
