Quick note on why I am emphasising the December date so much. It is NOT to counter the story that Brexit will be done by Jan 31st. I do not particularly care about this spin. I DO care about real effects of the implementation of the Withdrawal Agreement (short thread)
1) Citizens relying on EHIC will see their treatment denied in February. The WA transition period means it should be accepted until the end of the year. But the people who accept it are doctors and hospitals. Do they know? Doesn’t Brexit happen Jan 31st?
2) And this is my point: The transition period will only be implemented properly if the people who have to apply it are aware. The correct information needs to get to the people who need to know. And if they’re bombarded with “it’s all done on Jan 31st” - well...
