What I’ve been trying to do for 5 years - is to protect the UK (and its populace) from itself. That failed! With most sincere apologies! It’s #Art for me, from now! Adieu.
The UK has voted for self-demeanment, and for a past form of sovereignty that simply no longer exists, today. So, let it enjoy (at its leisure) that for which it has voted - by 17 v 16 out of 33, hardly a dominant majority!? I could’ve given a f@ck? but truthfully no longer can!

Hard factual headlines will follow this one:
"Tories have maxed up UK state debt by 2.5 times in just 9 and half years!" This is unprecedented in peacetime!
1/15
"Despite #Tory#Lies to the contrary? UK #economy is flat on its back, and likely to fall further - GDP was just 0.1% in the 6 months to 30sep19 being our worst showing since the financial crash!"
2/15

#Brexit's 'nightmare alley' from 100 miles high. A 'house of horrors' story with a happy ending? But only if we vote for an end to the 'biggest heist in history'! 1/
Cameron launched his cunning plan (Bruges 2013) which only half worked? Spoiler! A cautionary tale, never to be followed! being nothing to do with improved welfare for the vast majority of Brits. 2/

Just days away from a #GE2019 which will shape UK for many generations to come!
Some incontrovertible facts:
1/ UK GDP% growth has stalled, at just 0.1% over the 6 months to 30sep19 (so, virtually flat-lining). This is the worst 1/2 year performance since the financial crash.
2/ Three plus years on from the disastrous #EURef, we now KNOW that destabilising Russian influence/cash was a material factor in driving the #Leave Vote. So, #RussiaReport MUST be released BEFORE we vote again in #GE2019.

#OpportunityCost is the aggregate net cost of doing something, vis a vis 'not doing it' at all.
The initial project, option & prospect of #Brexit came with huge opportunity costs, which were too easily pre-discounted as #ProjectFear. 1/
The initial #Leave case, dramatised by the #BorisBus, contended that UK could save its £350m pw #EU 'gross membership contribution' and pass that 'saving' straight to the #NHS - as 'additional funding'. 2/

It's now painfully clear and beyond any doubt: 1. That the sunny, cost-free, easy-access uplands, posited by the Brexit cult, are mendacious fantasy. 2. That the ever-growing costs, downsides and consequences of Brexit are very real and intellectually indisputable. #BrexitChaos
We may tire of confronting the undisputed opportunity costs* of #Brexit#CatastrophUK (c.£130bn so far, rising at c.£1.2bn weekly) but our *GDP *Currency *Property Values *Stock Market *Govt Borrowing *Ongoing #Brexodus (ref: @uk_domain_names) combine to drag the UK backwards.

UK's HUGE #Brexit threat stems from a bizarre & unprecedented confluence of 5 Groupings: 1/Political #Blukip Zealots/Little Englanders 2/Badly-informed & Manipulated Masses, 3/Dominant UK Media interests 4/FarRightRussian/USA/powers 5/Ultra-rich Financiers & Offshore Moguls. 1/10
Drill down: 1/#Blukip has been 'on this' for years. If not led by Dr Snake Oil himself #FarRightRage then by someone else? English Nationalism has been SO easy to stoke, in a totally policy-free way!, with Scottish Nationalism pushing its case daily and pissing off Anglos. 2/10

#Brexit ALREADY costs UK £1bn pw as we Hit Holidays! @GoldmanSachs put that lower at £600m. but I'm looking at 2+% less GDP (than would have been); more Govt Debt (+interest); the growing impact of #Brexodus on jobs/taxtake; £devaln.&inflation creep, reducing Property values.1/20
@GoldmanSachs Am puzzled & mortified? that UK's so-called Major Political Parties @Conservatives@UKLabour seem umbilically disconnected? from the financial IMPACT of their recent (let's say) 'accidental collusions' and Brexit-Birth-Giving! Why the co-incidental & costly numeracy lapse? 2/20

Any #Brexit would be a total #Catastrophuc for UK! Reasons will follow in this 12 part thread, to be developed over coming days. If you know of any NET benefits from #Brexit, please feed them in. They'd need to be good to match the >£1bn pw this mess is ALREADY costing US! 1/12.
Easiest one first! Full #EU membership (as NOW) gives the UK unrestricted tariff-free & frictionless trade access to an enlarged & well developed HOME market of 550+ million people in 27 fellow member states, being SO much MORE than our own UK of 4 much smaller parts. 2/12.
@spaceangel1964 Space 1/ EU is arguably less corrupt (pro rata) than UK, USA, China, Russia, which is not to say that it's more efficient?
I'd put it at least 'marginally ahead' of UK/USA & well ahead of China/Russia. UK media has constantly bashed EU, for selfish reasons & infected many minds.
@spaceangel1964 Space 2/ Apart from OUR home mkt of EU27! UK has a growing Global Platform of EU trade deals (in which we have a say!) with 70+states eg S Korea, Canada, Japan. Our exporters ALREADY use that to good effect. Others eg NZ will do a deal with EU ahead of UK, coz of EU's scale.

While UK spirals down & out of control, gripped by self-inflicted Brexit-fixated inward-looking dirty-selfish politics, Major Parties talk to themselves with NO results, so far. Yet, every passing day brings new reasons to put Brexit to a #PeoplesVote with the option to #Remain.
#TriggerIsComing to force a #PeoplesVote on #Brexit, with an option to #endthechaos and #Remain. Many MPs are daily more restive over the lack of a truly #MeaningfulVote - another #May mistake that will come back to haunt #Blukip, after ALL their Lies & wastage of time AND money.

Leavers were misled. Fact-based #BrexitRejection drives many to Remain. #TriggerIsComing. #PeoplesVote will follow.
Life is a hard journey. We ALL have to admit IT, when wrong! Only alternative is digging in, ever deeper, to that wrongful position (aka 'bad decision bias'). I say to Leavers, now, take another fresh look and rethink! This is ALL our futures! #TriggerIsComing#PeoplesVote soon!

IF we do leave the EU, big IF, I predict that there'll be a marked tendency for Remainers to Leave the UK, and for Leavers to Remain, stuck here. Losers perpetually banking on Winners to just suck it up, and blithely bail them out, just #May be disappointed. There, I've said it!
Close relatives who departed these shores in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's felt they perceived a better future 'elsewhere'. Am beginning to get it, at last! I #May be a slow learner, or just late to awake to the now revealed realities of the UK, and its 'true prospects'.

We are now witnessing the final death throes not just of the May Government, but of the @Conservatives as we have come to know them: self-serving, self-obsessed, self-promoting, self-seeking, self-ish, self-destroying, Good riddance!
UK's electorate, especially our Youth, will severely punish @Conservatives at EVERY future ballot opportunity, Ad Infinitum! This process started with #GE2017 - but if it were re-run as #GE2018, they'd be right OUT! We demand a #PeoplesVote to stop this insanity and halt #Brexit!

Don't believe that Blukip Mayhem & Co realise just HOW far adrift they have become from public opinion NOW! Of course, they could put ANY deal? Big IF? to a #peoplesvote, and test the will of the people to which they love SO much to defer? Democracy? Do they really believe in it?
Hard to escape the view that 'so called' UK Democracy has been completely hijacked by Blukip Mayhem & Co. There's NO mandate to trash our economy in the way now daily unfolding. It's totally risible to suggest that we'll go global from the self-inflicted wreckage of what we had.

Backed by 70% of voters (#LocalElections2018) our two major parties aim to take UK down to the minor leagues of sub-#G20 growth, supported by NO detailed plans as to the costs, complexities & consequences of such bizarre recklessness. Not just insane, but amazingly short-sighted!
2. Is this a case of who blinks first? Surely I, and fellow well-informed remainers, are not in exclusive possession of key economic facts and trends? Con/Lab MUST have these too? Maybe everyone should check the latest @guardian piece by @williamnhutton!

1. So, illegal/ruinous Brexit being pushed by HMG with no plan B & dead against latest WOTP. In other news, deportations of aged long-stay black residents continue & BBC 'pops up' with Full Monty of Enoch Powell racist speech from 50 yrs ago. Britain NOW neither Great nor United!
2. A grim co-incidence of unwelcome home/foreign events makes it more likely that both Houses of Parliament will find a way to #StopBrexit2018 - now that its implications look even less appealing to British voters, on the back of an #Euref vote that looks ever less safe & valid!

Am becoming increasingly annoyed by all these lurid alt-right leavers who keep saying "But we'll be able to do this & that after Brexit". Will we? What can't we do now? Their argument is fantasy-on-stilts, predicated on yet more devaluation of UK currency (which they've hedged).
"If only" I could believe that these alt-right Tory blukippers have the UK national interests at heart? When it screams at me through every pore, that they're totally self-centred, self-serving, self-interested & (guess what?) self-invested! And the benefits of Brexit are what?

10 mths on from a rash, premature, totally unplanned #Article50 trigger, we still await clarity as to what #Brexit might mean? But HMG has now confirmed what we knew 19 mths back - Brexit remains totally unaffordable! We've spent a fortune to establish that simple & obvious fact!
Have known from the off that Brexit must be halted: 1.Our negotiating position was weakened by #A50 trigger, not strengthened. 2.Obvious from day 1 that ANY form of Brexit would be totally unaffordable - as we have 5x more debt since 1997 and run a huge visible trade imbalance.

Among reasons for opposing Brexit is UK's unpreparedness for such a huge change! Unless we stop this now, the purported benefits may be less than pre-sold? and the warned downsides may well be worse? If either or both? our public finances could implode under self-imposed strain.
Consider UK's low productivity relative to our G20 peers - well publicised but poorly understood? Improving 'this' over a sustained period would surely have been preferable pre-requisite prior to anything as profound as Brexit!
