As the #idiotic #impeachment gets set to start tomorrow, media outlets took the time to introduce us to the #castofcharacters added to @realdonaldtrump's #defense.
I worked with #Starr on two #SCOTUS cases in the early 1990s when he was #SolicitorGeneral. Not much I can offer about him.
But I worked with @JaySekulow from 1988 through 2012. I wrote briefs and other legal documents bearing his name. I assisted him in preparing for his #SCOTUS arguments. Early on, I actually wrote his press releases from 1989 to 1992.
So just exactly who is #Sekulow?
Sekulow lives in Tennessee:
But he isn't admitted to practice law there.
Sekulow was first admitted to the practice of law in the State of Georgia:
But notice that the @StateBarofGA shows his office address as being in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Odd?

Not necessarily.

After all, #Sekulow is also admitted to the @DC_Bar:
And even though the @ACLJ has an office on Capitol Hill, the #DCBar lists #Sekulow's office address at .... Virginia Beach.
Of course, having a Virginia office for the practice of law makes lots of sense for an attorney admitted to practice law in Virginia.
Except, as it turns out, #Sekulow isn't admitted to practice law in Virginia:
So who is #Sekulow?

He is a Georgia and DC attorney who lives in Tennessee and has his office in Virginia Beach but is not admitted to practice law in Tennessee, where he seems to spend lots of time or in Virginia, where the Georgia and DC bars say he has his office.
Sekulow's wife also owns a Waynesville, NC, home, another State where #Sekulow is not admitted to practice law:
The mystery of #Sekulow -- where is he admitted, where does he practice, does he practice in TN or VA where he IS NOT admitted -- is deepened by the mysterious redactions found on every legal document Sekulow's @ACLJ posts on its website, aclj.org/get-legal-help….
From letters of various kinds
To #SCOTUS briefs:
to lawsuits against the @FBI and the @TheJusticeDept:
Each document that the @ACLJ posts on its website has the #officeaddresses of its attorneys obscured.

Why is that?

It's not a requirement of the rules of courts. In fact, the publicly available versions of each of these documents doesn't have the obliterated addresses.
But the @ACLJ's website and the obscuring of addresses simply compounds the mystery about the Georgia-DC attorney who lives in Tennessee where he has no license to practice law and works in a Virginia office where he has no license to practice law.
