What triggered Cho to conduct Thuglak Readers Conference every year?

Cho recalls it in his book "Adhirshtam Thandha Anubhavangal" (Experiences by luck).
Cho wanted to "April Fool" his Thuglak Readers, hence he made an announcement in Thuglak that he wanted to know the opinions of his readers whether they want him to continue writing political satires.

Announcement requested readers to assemble at "Woodlands" hotel on April 1st.
Cho's actual plan was to keep a placard in front of the hotel reading "It was an April Fool announcement, readers can go back home & relax", for which he already obtained the hotel administration's permission.

Cho thought readers wud somehow guess his plans & don't turn up.
On the Contrary, 1000s of readers assembled in front of the hotel, which the hotel administration didn't expect! Also they have removed Cho's "April Fool" placard fearing the wrath of the crowd & informed Cho about the crowd.
Clueless Cho asked the hotel administration to convince the crowd to go back, saying his plans, which the hotel outrightly turned down and asked him to come.

Finally Cho came, asked his readers to tell their opinions..and in his final address, explained his original plan.
