Soros reflects in this day and age the hubris of imperialism, that he can use his wealth to trigger "regime change." In the case of Soros, this is not an idle threat, this has been something he has done, with varying success, before.
The hypocrisy of this being met with applause by Indian "liberals" while being opposed to Russian interference in US elections (because they fought facebook ads and put up fake news sites) aside, this signals a dangerous development in Indian media.
If indeed he intends to act on this, expect massive cash infusions into existing "Mudi must resign" media through a number of proxies, because this is what has been his modus operandi in the past. This is of course great news for the usual suspects.

Expect investments in Youtube channels, Whatsapp groups, and other non-traditional media outlets. New "investigative outlets" like Propublica, will be funded, and this will fuel tremendous opportunities for media influencers smarting under present regime.
