Recently, Chairman @LindseyGrahamSC and Ranking Member @SenFeinstein's bipartisan bill to keep dangerous drugs off the street passed the Senate.

The current temporary scheduling order, which keeps fentanyl-related substances illegal, is set to expire on February 6, 2020.
Now, it's up to the House of Representatives to pass the bipartisan Temporary Reauthorization and Study of the Emergency Scheduling of Fentanyl Analogues Act (S. 3201).

.@RepDougCollins, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee:

.@repgregwalden, Ranking Member of @HouseCommerce:

"...we need to reauthorize the fentanyl [analogues] ban, which is set to expire in a matter of weeks. Reauthorizing ...has broad bipartisan support, and we should be able to do this expeditiously.”
.@senatemajldr Mitch McConnell:

[This bill] "will keep [fentanyl analogues] appropriately listed among the most dangerous illegal drugs and keep this important tool in the hands of law enforcement…"

@senatemajldr .@AddictionPolicy Founder @jess_nickel: “This overwhelmingly bipartisan legislation is essential to combat fentanyl & the devastation it causes in our communities nationwide. We applaud the Senate for taking this important step & urge swift consideration & passage in the House.."

All 6 New England U.S. Attorneys:

"While this is a step in the right direction and the House should follow suit and pass the Senate's bill, a longer term solution is needed."

.@USAttyHerdman:

"We owe it to the many thousands of Ohioans who have fallen victim to illicit fentanyl and its analogues to keep this ban in place.”

U.S. Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen:

“If the House fails to act by midnight on February 6, traffickers of deadly opioids will again have the upper hand. This cannot be allowed to happen."

.@ONDCP Director Jim Carroll:

"I believe it is imperative that the House act now to pass the Senate-approved bill and prevent a vital regulatory action from lapsing, letting known dangerous substances loose on our communities once again."

Eight law enforcement organizations:

“We urge Congress to pass this bipartisan legislation to help law enforcement do its part to save lives... Quickly passing this legislation before February 6, 2020 will allow that important work to continue.”
