As I've gotten older my resistance to universal health care as an idea has diminished.

Rights vs. Privileges. Health care isn't a right, but perhaps should be a privilege of advanced society.

My problem: Can it deliver equal quality/cost that I currently receive? It's doubtful.
There are other issues, too. America houses most of the world's groundbreaking pharma corps and hospitals. How does it affect them? How does it affect doctor and nurse pay?

Can the system scale to 325 million? How does it deal with illegal residents?

It's an interesting topic.
I hate health insurance. It's a hassle. It sucks, which is why I always supported certain components of Obamacare (like the individual mandate, staying on your parents' roll, annual maximum payments, etc.).

I just think the solution is far more complicated than proponents admit.
I think I ultimately support Pete Buttigieg's "Medicare For All Who Want It" approach, or something like it.

If Medicare is the best option, then it will put private insurance out of business. The idea should be put to the test; see what happens when people can choose.
