One thing I kept from my libertarian years is I’m still a huge fan of just giving poor people money over other kinds of welfare programs that are more controlling.

I’ll vote for any candidate who promises to ban men’s clothing companies from making blazers and suit jackets that are so aggressively cropped they no longer cover your ass.
Men please stop buying these. It doesn’t look good. There’s a happy medium between the super long tail on your dad’s suit and this monstrosity.
Also please aim for the top button on your blazer/jacket to be at your navel. The one above is too high. It looks bad and you should feel bad.

Unclear what “violated” means precisely here—but this also suggests multiple aircraft.
Follow-up tweet clarifies things a bit. We can litigate details later, but big picture right now per ISPR is IAF fighters crossed LoC in the early morning—before sunrise—and released some payload that Pakistan is saying hit nothing important in particular.
Biggest question I have is what “near” Balakot means and what payload specifically. Balakot is not in Azad Kashmir—it’s in KP.

There is a massive amount of economics research showing that giving poor people money improves their quality of life, educational outcomes, and health outcomes.
Too tired now, but I'll do a thread and a Bloomberg post about how giving poor people money is surprisingly effective at improving their long-term outcomes.
It is true that there are things besides money that help poor people (various social services, good-specific transfers like food stamps, etc.), but that's no excuse not to give poor people money.

Every time I pitch poverty as a topic, I get an eye-roll.

Poverty was barely mentioned in 2016 Hillary raised it a few times; Sanders talked about "the ghetto" and Trump said he would cut taxes, but he actually cut entitlements.

Yet 1 in 7 Americans lives in #poverty.
