Here's what really flies in the face of the class reductionist critique of Sanders: Look at his campaign staffing and community specific policies. Class reductionism is akin to "color blindness," ie. whitewashed wokeness/feminism. Bernie's campaign is anything but whitewashed 1/
As @TheBarbaraSmith says, identity politics is NOT about hierarchies of oppression, it's about how "we acknowledge that people have different relationships to systemic oppression based on who they are." Now look at the makeup of Bernie's staff and policies 2/
Look at his Latino outreach. Look at his disability rights platform. Look at his criminal justice platform. Look at his marijuana platform. Look at his climate plan. All of these proposals and others are INDIVIDUALIZED to the needs of those afffected communities 3/
The are NOT simply blanket whitewashed economic proposals. There is a very clear reason why Sanders is doing so much better than his rivals with Latino, immigrant, Muslim, and LGBTQ communities. It's because he has put in the WORK, both in outreach and in policy 4/
And no, Bernie is obviously not perfect. I hate that I have to say that to avoid accusations blind worship. But he is absolutely, fundamentally, intersectional in his approach to addressing community specific needs, including, but not limited to, overlapping economic needs. 5/5
