I honestly think the Warren has a much better right to complain about the screw-ups and the rat-fucking in Iowa. But Warren's positioning herself as party unifier is preventing campaign from making that case.
Remember how Buttigieg (on dubious grounds) got the DMR to spike the last poll? That hurt Warren more than anyone -- poll showed her doing well and would've given her a boost.
Also Warren's strong third place showing (well above poll predictions) would be getting a lot more attention if it weren't for the vote tabulation screw up.

1. Very interesting @IChotiner interview with Michael Lind about Lind's attempt to craft a high-brow Trumpism (although that's perhaps not how Lind would describe it).
2. One of Lind's moves is to draw a contrast between the managerial elite and the working class. He defines the managerial elite broadly as a matter of college education or higher. He cites mid-century theorist James Burnham as source for this concept.
3. Not to pull a Marshal McLuhan in Annie Hall, but as it happens I'm one of the few people alive who has read everything James Burnham wrote. And I can assure you he explicitly rejected the Lind idea that the managerial elite was defined by culture & education.

1. I think we need to start discussing this stuff as stochastic terrorism: the stirring up of animosity to increase the statistical likelihood of violence. In other words: "will no one give me retribution against this turbulent congressman?"
2. A lot of the discussion of Trump's authoritarianism has the model of 20th century dictatorships: armed agents of the state rounding up people. And that's happened to immigrants under Trump. But there's also the more modern innovation of stochastic terrorism.
3. The stochastic terrorism model works particularly well if you're a reality show president governing a country where there are many heavily armed individuals. You can stir up hatred of your foes and know that this is likely to increase the odds they will get hurt.

1. The news here is the collapse of Biden. He's been the national polling leader for a year and lead in most Iowa polls until fairly recently. He ended up a distant fourth.
2. The excuse for Biden is that Iowa (very white, liberal-leaning) doesn't play to his strengths. True: but he had other advantages: Sanders/Warren/Klobuchar were busy with impeachment, giving Biden a chance to hold personal events in a state where that's important.
3. Also Biden got lots of local endorsements. And he's been burning his money faster than his big rivals (a dangerous move since he has less of it). The 4th place finish in Iowa puts him in a precarious position.

Recently confirmed, Kinsella is raising May’s personal brand recognition & popularity.

May has a recent WAPO & David Moscrop interview.

May can not be elected by Americans. So why publish in WAPO?
WAPO is a well known and reputable news source state side. But even WAPO has made a few blunders. This is one.

Is Kinsella juxtaposing May with AOC to cash in on AOC’s popularity? I’d say that’s a reasonable possibility. AOC was the first to present the Green New Deal publicly.
AOC is a very popular politician among leftist Canadians who espouse socialist leanings,. I see admiration, hero worship and extolling of her virtues on NDP and Green threads constantly. She is a smart and powerful force to reckon with. And she employs populism quite lavishly.
