While I wait for a Bernie Sanders event to start in Manchester, let's go through today's jobs report. The headline is good, with 225,000 jobs created in January, as the jobless rate ticked up to 3.6 percent. 1/
The unemployment rate continues to be at a historically low level, as the current expansion continues post-Great Recession 2/
Job gains were revised up by 5k in November from 256k to 261k, and revised up in December by 2k from 145k to 147k. 3/
The U6 rate - considered the broadest measure of unemployment - went up two ticks to 6.9 percent in January, but still remains way off the highs of the Great Recession, when it peaked at 17.2 percent in April of 2010. 4/
The Labor Force Participation Rate jumped two ticks to 63.4 percent in January, the high mark of the Trump Administration, and the highest point since June 2013 5/
After five straight months of declines, the number of people holding multiple jobs went up 206,000 in January 6/
The level of unemployment for black Americans went up to 6 percent in January, bouncing off a historic low of 5.4 percent set in August. 7/
The number of people working part-time because they could not find a full-time job went up 34,000 in January, the first increase since August. 8/
