Near the border between the westernmost part of #Ukraine and #Romania, there is an area without internet communication. Residents here travel by horse-drawn carriage, raise sheep in the mountains, and occasionally host campfires at home.
Because the #Carpathian region is isolated from the outside world, many traditional customs still remain here. It is these customs that make this area a protected area for folklore traditions.
The Gutul settlement is located east of the outer Carpathians and south of the Carpathians. The Guchus are descendants of the Gullis of the Duchy of Galicia-Warrenros, and fled to the Carpathian Mountains in order to avoid feudal autocracy.

Separated from the outside world, the Gutuls retain their traditional way of life.
Gutul traditional weddings have become popular in #Kiev. Similarly, it is very popular to spend the New Year in mountain ski resorts in the Carpathian Mountains and to participate in the traditional folk festivals of Güzur.
Today, borders of various periods are still preserved on the branches of the Carpathian Mountains. Because at different times these areas once belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Poland, Romania, Czechoslovakia, and the Soviet Union.

Most of the Gutul settlements were classified as Ukraine, and only a few Gutul villages remained in Romania. The total number of Gutul people is estimated to be between 50,000 and 80,000.
This place is beautifully restored, with clean cows "moo - moo", horses rumbling on the dirt road, & sunflowers visible through the wooden fence. There are three churches: the Russian orthodox church, the independent church of the patriarch of Kiev, and the Greek Catholic church.
Velykyi Bychkiv, village is located near the border between #Ukraine and #Romania. There is also a market behind the house, which specializes in trading animal products, but no cattle or sheep can be seen because they are stocked on alpine meadows all summer.
Animal husbandry is the basic type of agriculture engaged by the Gutuls.
On 1500 meters above sea level, moss grows everywhere, and most of the trees on the mountain are short. There are 4 shepherds working here. The wooden house they lived in was built more than a century ago: wooden floors, chase shops, cooktops-both for heating and cooking.
On the wall hangs the #Trimbita, a Gutul wind instrument. In the past, "shepherds" used it to convey information, because its voice could reach several kilometers.
It is a 9-hour drive from here to #Kiev and only 20 km to the European Union. The people here live on agriculture and traditional handicrafts. Even more gratifying is that #Gutul culture is still full of vitality.
