#MountCook National Park was established in 1953 and is adjacent to New Zealand's West End National Park, Asparine Hills National Park, & Fiordland National Park. Mount Cook National Park is made up of glaciers, steep walls, hot springs, mountain forests and various wild animals.
Two-thirds of the park is covered by beech & arhat pine in the south, some of which are over 800 years old. The big parrot in the park is the only alpine parrot and kea in the world, and there is also a huge flightless southern young bird, which is also a rare endangered species.
#MountCook National Park is located in #NewZealand. The park is packed with snow mountains, glaciers, rivers, lakes, forests, and animals and plateau vegetation. The surprise here is unparalleled elsewhere.
The foothills of Mount Cook are excellent natural playgrounds. Mount Cook has beautiful alpine botanical gardens, and you can also do skiing and other activities in Mount Cook. Mount Cook is the mountain that many climbers yearn for.
For the first time in 1894, three New Zealand mountaineers such as Jack Clark Thomas Fife and George Graham climbed to the top, but not everyone was so lucky because of its climate.
Unpredictable, hidden dangers such as sudden storms or avalanches can take away the lives of climbers. As per statistics, more than 100 people have died in the Mount Cook disaster over the years, which shows how difficult it is to perform advanced mountaineering activities here.
In front of the V-shaped valley eroded by Mount Glacier, there are two quiet and beautiful lakes in between, namely Lake Pukaki and Lake Taika. Mount Cook National Park is a great spot to see the Southern Alps.
There are 29 peaks above 3000 meters above sea level, so it has become the most eager place for New Zealand mountaineers. In addition to the #Hooker Valley Trail, there are many short-distance trails.
Such as the Alpine Parrot Horn Trail, which ends at the Alpine Parrot Horn. For three hours, you can see the Hooker Valley, Mueller Glacier and Glacier Lake. A forked road leads to the beautifully-appointed Xili Pool; the Wakefield Trail follows Lake Hook.
