First, having abundant numbers of validators is NOT statistically more significant security nor added network stability from the point of view of non-state attacks. It can't be compared to Bitcoin, which requires orders of magnitude more nodes to achieve comparable security.
Second, there's a hypothetical peak of 1000 validators before returns diminish. Thus, it's not only useless, but impossible for each customer to be 'compelled' to run their own validator. Does it makes sense for you to be a mechanic because you drive a car?
Third, in the beginning, Ripple was the dominant entity in the validator UNL, very centralized. Now, Ripple has less than 20% of the UNL validators in the UNL, and even if Ripple shut down all their validators, the remaining UNL validators could still make forward progress
Then there's this literally stupid suggestion that Ripple will stop using XRP... It's so stupid, that I can't think of any possible reason why they would do that. XRP IS their core business model. It's where their wealth is stored, it's the center of their flagship product.
Try to imagine FedEx saying, ok, we're not using our own trucks any more, we're going to just redirect all our packages to UPS for delivery and make UPS rich while we make nothing...
Also, be aware that Tiffany is notorious for using sockpuppet accounts so she can not only get past being blocked, but so she can also act as fake supporters for her main account.
I know I've fostered a strong reaction to Tiff's actions, but can we please keep the lewd gender/sexual comments out? Stay focused on what was said, we don't need to demoralize her.
There was also mention of removing validators. This is in reference to Ripple's ambition to mostly/completely remove 'Ripple's' validators from the UNL, achieving 100% decentralization. This is absolutely the best outcome we could hope for, even if only for symbolic reasons
As for 'going to end badly'.. this vacuous fear-mongering nonsense is all you need to know about how her alignments have shifted. She's pissed off at and wants to punish Ripple, and is trying to throw her weight around to scare people off of XRP
Next was the proposterous suggestion that validators will get sick of not getting paid to run their nodes and bail. Validators know from Day 1 they will never be remunerated to validate, and yet they do it. It's not like they expect at some point they will start getting paid.
Then there's the suggestion that validators could vote an amendment in that gifts the validators tons of XRP. While technically possible, do you really think that 80% of voluntary non-compensation-seeking validators, would be inclined to defraud XRP? probably destroying it?
