HOW TO FIND A HUNGRY MARKET THAT WILL MAKE YOU SO MUCH MONEY

The best advice and best attitude I ever developed in business is this: Finding a hungry market. A starving market in fact.

I get it, you have ideas and they excite you. They tickle you.

But don't make the mistake
Don't go in blindly.

The quickest way to have a solid base in business is to find a starving market.

Penetration is easy and if it is really a hungry market, scaling is easy as well.

How do you find a starving market?
1. Start by clearly defining who your ideal customer (IC) is

As simple as this sounds, this is your first step to clarity.

You need to know who this person is.

What is their name?

Where do they live?

What do they do?

Are they employees or business owners?

When you have a
sufficiently clear picture of who this person is, then you can move to the next step.

I'll call my IC Chris

2. Identify his top most pain and frustration.

If you have a child and wake up one morning to discover that he has got measles, will you allow him go to school that day?
No you won't. In fact, the school will send him back home.

You'll do everything you can to treat that condition.

That is what you should look for in your IC. What is his pain? That itch he so badly wants to scratch.

So here: Chris is an employee working with a bank but
is looking to go into entrepreneurship.

He is scared and confused about where to start.

He wants to start a business, but years working in comfort has numbed his sense of risk taking. He just wants to be confident and know that he is taking the right steps.
3. Validate Your IC's Pain point.

This is where you go into forums to observe conversations. Use Nairaland, Facebook groups, etc.

Here's a strategy I use that works:

There are some respectable people on here who tweet about specific topics, and usually people comment their
pain under such tweets or threads.

For instance, if someone makes an insightful thread on, say, ecommerce, people will flood the comment section with their pain. Some comments will reveal things to you.

To take it a notch higher, you can use google keyword planner, free/paid
Once you have gotten enough results you can then

4. Launch on a small scale.

You should target your first 100 customers. The reason is, your research may still not capture it all and your first 100 customers will convince you that there is a market.
5 your first 100 customers will also help you modify your product. They will continue to ask questions and share more of their pains that you can use to capture the next 100 or 1,000.

Once you find gold doing this, then you can scale up to hit higher figures.
