Here's a little marketing 101 for content creators on Twitter: one reason I put so much of my content directly on Twitter is that Twitter threads have several advantages when it comes to going viral.

But there are disadvantages for monetizing and controlling it.
Believe me when I say that it is easier for people on Twitter to notice and read and spread thread than it is for them to notice a link to your work elsewhere, read it, and then come back to Twitter and share it.
So what are you to do with your off-Twitter work? Crossposting it is better than not, but the key to getting it noticed: attach a thread to the link.

Share some background on the piece's creation. Expand on an aspect of it.
Writing a thread gives people more chances to see the tweet with the link, more reasons to stop and read the whole thing (the thread, at least) and more chances and inclinations to click on the link.
People will even share tweets from the thread without reading the linked piece.

"But I want them to read the linked piece!" Sure. But you can't make them. And the more people who see the thread, the more chances you get that someone will read it.
