He is a victim of the cruel, racist habitual offender law (similar to 3-strikes laws) which rob people of their humanity for political points.

My father was in prison. He got out and turned his life around. He was a great father and he saved my life.
He deserves enormous credit for that.
But this is America in 2020 so let's just speak the truth: if he was black, he wouldn't have made parole.
There are hundreds of thousands of black men (and women) sitting in jail cells RIGHT NOW for minor crimes bc of cruel sentencing laws. They have kids too. Mothers & fathers & people who miss them.
If you don't include the mostly black men who are victims of a system founded on white supremacy, then you're ignoring the biggest tragedy of dehumanization of the 21st century.
We must be a voice for the voiceless.
