1/ Holy crap. Just heard on Fox that Bloomberg has already spent $350 million on his campaign. That’s insane! All that 💸 and he's a zero in the early Dem primaries. After he buys his way on the Dem debate stage, Bernie will certainly tear into him for that.
2/

This just highlights America's stupid campaign finance laws designed to "get money out of politics." [Thanks, John McCain - and W for not vetoing that stupid bill.] Money will never be out of politics.
3/ And our campaign finance laws totally distort our politics, but not in the way the leftist crusaders think it does. At least it's "fully disclosed" who is funding Bloomberg's campaign. He's doing it, just like Trump largely did - at least in the GOP primaries.
4/

Bloomberg hates Trump, and he wants Trump out of office. Fine. Wouldn't it make more sense for Bloomberg to donate all those 💰💰💰💰💰 to the candidate he thinks can best beat Trump? Or even to the Democratic Party?
5/ And then, as we do with political spending, have that money reported for all to see?

Our legal limits of $2,800 to a candidate and $5,000 to a PAC and $35,000 to a National Party Committee are completely arbitrary.
6/ They want to make us believe any amount over those limits are "corrupt." Again, those limits are completely arbitrary. Pulled out of a hat. Are we to believe that a single dollar above those limits are proof of corruption?
7/ Our laws say it is, because they put people in jail for stepping outside those arbitrary lines. Even a little bit. Just ask @DineshDSouza. The major problem with our campaign finance laws are that they treat free citizens like children. Like morons.
@DineshDSouza 8/ The elites that made these laws believe they are too smart to be fooled by campaign ads and all the media and momentum money buys in politics. But the rest of us? We're morons, easily led and fooled. BTW: Did that maxim apply when Obama spent $730M in 2008 to McCain's $333M?
@DineshDSouza 9/ Of course not, our elites in media, culture, and in elected office would say. No matter what Bernie says, we will never "get money out of politics." And we will never get millionaires and billionaires - Bernie's cut-out enemies - out of politics, either.
@DineshDSouza 10/ How about this, elites: Just trust the people to figure it out. This may be as difficult a thing to get your head around as the idea that Hollywood projects "America's values."
@DineshDSouza 11/ But hear me out: You are actually not smarter and wiser than the people in "flyover country" for whom you have thinly veiled contempt. We see that.
@DineshDSouza 12/ In fact, most Americans would rather share a meal with a random resident three towns over than a "media star" or other celebrity. Trust the people the way you trust your fellow "elites."
@DineshDSouza 13/ Like you, we can figure out if Bloomberg's bottomless self-funded vanity campaign is worthy of support or dismissal. Just like America did with Trump's largely self-funded campaign, to the great benefit to the country. /end
