The last letter on my to do list is Warren's (unless you want me to do Bloomberg's too). Warren's is actually pretty straight forward, and, if I may be blunt, she's probably the healthiest of the 3 septuagenarians discussed. Here's a link to her letter: documentcloud.org/documents/6569… 1/
Warren's letter comes from her long time physician of 20+yrs, Dr. Beverly Woo. According to Dr. Woo, Warren's only health condition is hypothyroidism, a condition she has in common with Sanders. Like Sanders, she takes levothyroxine to supplement her low thyroid function 2/ Image
As I said in my first thread, thyroid hormone helps regulate a lot of bodily functions and can impact metabolism, energy, immune response, and concentration. Thankfully, supplementing an underperforming thyroid with artificial hormone is very effective. That is her only med 3/
On examination, Warren appears to have an excellent blood pressure, heart rate, and weight. Her BMI is 19.6 which is right in the middle of the normal weight range. Cholesterol panel is also at great values. Her HDL (good cholesterol) is 95! That's excellent 4/ Image
The rest of the letter just talks about her labs all being normal and her lack of smoking, alcohol, or drug history. Her breast cancer screening last year was also normal. FYI, as long as you have breasts, you need routine screenings from 40 to 75! After that, it's optional 5/ Image
That's the end of the letter. The rest is lab values from her last test with normal electrolytes, liver/kidney function, & blood count. Warren appears very healthy according to Dr. Woo's report. If you wanna get nitpicky tho, there are a few lingering points I can make 6/
First, Dr. Woo doesn't mention Warren's blood sugar levels. Her fasting glucose was 103. Normal is under 100. In addition to that, her hgbA1C (a rough 3 month average of blood sugar) is 5.8%. This is *technically* borderline pre-diabetic. 7/
That doesn't mean she should be on another medication for it, but it's definitely something I'd mention to her if I were her doctor. And maybe she's been at this level for years, I don't know. It's just something one would want to keep an eye on. 8/
The other point I'd like to make is that of the 3 reports examined, Warren's is definitely the most sparse. That might just be because her health history has been very mundane, but I'm still left wondering if there has ever been any surgeries or health scares. 9/
It's only conspicuous because of her relatively advanced age. Most people don't have such a clean record at 70. That said, it's definitely not unheard of, and if this is indeed her entire history, I wouldn't recommend any additional testing either 10/
But as an onlooker putting her under excessive scrutiny, I can say we know more about Bernie's heart health than Warren's simply because he's undergone more testing and we know the results. If you recall, Bernie had a completely unremarkable heart history too up until October 11/
The point is we don't know what we don't know. That's the folly of practicing medicine and trying to make predictions on outcomes. However, I don't want to scaremonger either. Warren appears to be very healthy based on Dr. Woo's letter 12/
And that's all, folks! Bloomberg has a health letter out too and just from a cursory glance, he's got the most health issues out of all the 70+yr olds. If people really want it, I'll go through it too, but tbh, there are more important reasons to vote against his racist ass. END
