Off to court for Kate Scottow's verdict #IStandWithScottow .

A reminder. This is how this started

Act I: Professor Kathleen Stock tweets about people scheming to get her and other gender critical academics fired
2. Act II: Hayden repeatedly calls Stock a transphobe and a twitter discussion ensues
Act III Hayden calls a black man a hypocrite for his stance in this debate.

Several people object
Act IV: Hayden reports several participants in the discussion to the police and to their universities
Act V @bustedwench responds to that tweet “Lets hope they take a serious stance on your racism”.

At this, Hayden tracks down bustedwench's name and university and reports her to her professor
So today we are here we are to hear whether Scottow is guilty of causing persistent annoyance by posting a dozen or so tweets over the next 7 months

But misses the mark on the issues ❌

Its not about "exceptional circumstances" 🙄 it's about upholding the exception that allows males to be excluded in general from 🚺spaces
Is it the "cruelist of personal repudiations" to say this space/ service/ job is single sex (because of other people's bodily privacy) and expect people of the opposite sex (whatever their gender identity) to respect that?
Gaby suggests it's all good. But she's coy about the questions.

"Absorb gender questioning pupils"? Of course! The Q is should males be allowed in girls showers etc

"Unisex loos" ? Fine (in addition to single sex ) The Q is should males have right to be in 🚺 facilities?

Take a look at the URL: "comment-on-denunciation-of-a-womans-place-as-a-trans-exclusionist-hate-group"

There's the original title of the post!

But somewhere along the line it was neutralised to "Fawcett comments on the sex, gender and identity debate"
So now we have a statement which leads with the unnecessary both-siderism "Trans people are targeted with violence, abuse and threats" .... "(and so are women)"

and doesn't say ANYTHING about the actual threat to women in this case (of bring kicked out of their political party)

1/ I can't express the upset/anger I feel about this verdict. Last year my mother was harassed & stalked by an ex boyfriend after she broke up with him. He had mentally abused her & sexually assaulted her. I had over 150 screenshots of tweet threads he posted

2/ on Twitter revealing her personal information & harassing her. He also maliciously & falsely reported my mum for benefit fraud & others (I don't want to be too detailed). Myself & others reported his tweets. #IStandWithScottow
3/ But Twitter did nothing. I even told them the police were involved. Never received a reply.
The police gave him a warning but they said he had my done anything illegal! And the assault was hard to prove, although they beleived her. #IStandWithScottow

Judge is entirely satisfied #Scottow intent and purpose were one and the same, to cause annoyance or anxiety.

Day 1. The question of persistence is posed, what does it mean? Does it mean 9 tweets over 6 months? Kate didn't tag the claimant in for many of them so it was not intended to be brought to the claimant's attention.

Joan talks about the “David and Goliath” struggle against ‘well funded trans lobby groups’...

Trans people are 0.6-1% of the population. Women are 50%

Who’s Goliath?

The ‘campaign groups’ are also actually CHARITIES - the money they receive is to support LGBT minorities!
I suspect the reason Joan feels like her ‘gender critical’ view on trans issues is like David to Goliath, is because the vast majority of people - including cis women - disagree with it, and are 💯 supportive of transgender equality!

"gender" is kinda a terrible word. Cause on one end you have people thinking it means "(assigned) sex" and on the other end you have people thinking it means "personal identity" and other people thinking it means "societal expectations/roles"
and those are very different definitions!

well, I'm guess the people saying it means assigned sex don't think they are.
if your genitals determine your sex and your identity and your roles, this is way less complicated.
which is always the conservative viewpoint on many issues, it seems.
"X or Y? well, X is easier to understand, probably because it's what I was taught as a kid, so definitely X"
