Remember:

1. Most birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish & insects face extinction within decades.

2. Science shows human activity is causing extinctions.

3. Human activity is political.

4. The dominant political economy is capitalism.

5. Most media ignore this reality.
By the 2030s, Earth will have warmed ~2°C in just 250 years.

There is no record of ecosystems or species in the geologic past surviving this rate of climate change.

Pollution and habitat destruction by corporations are also causing this mass extinction.

Dear Science Journalists,

Please mention that:

1. Many scientists suggest highly dangerous 2- 4C is now unavoidable

2. Even immediate cutting of emissions could well leave us at ~2C by 2029-2039 (IPCC models, peer-reviewed research)

3. IPBES calls for economic transformation

Increasingly popular in US and UK politics, simply say something that is blatantly untrue, e.g. "The Arctic is cooling", "Greenland isn't melting", "No evidence CO2 causes warming," "Brexit will be good for Britain", etc ... 2/.
#ClimateChange denial type 2: Half-truth.
Show someone half the facts and conceal the other half, and lead them to an incorrect conclusion. e.g. "Many IPCC scientists say warming estimates are over-estimated" (ignoring that at least equal number would say the opposite). 3/.

I am curious, only a weather hobbyist, but apply my auditing background in my search for FACTS. I was preparing some #climate info yesterday for posting this morning & was greeted by some other posts today which complement my looking at indicators of #climatechange exaggeration.
The world's weather stations, according to @TempGlobal, continue to show that the global climate is maintaining it's recent cooling trend. #climatechange #GlobalWarming

Scientists are once again warning about #climate armageddon. Thousands vetted the best science out there. More extinction, death and disease is in store if we don't act fast.

But I think we should focus on something uncomfortable: for many people, this is meaningless. /1
Let’s be clear: the IPCC report is a tour de force. Over 90 scientists spent years writing it, based on over 6,000 peer reviews. It says the planetary warming ALREADY caused “will persist for centuries to millennia.” It says we’re not acting fast enough to cut pollution. /2
The report adds to the vast global scientific consensus, based on an overwhelming body of evidence, that we’re pushing the planet into DANGEROUS and destructive warming conditions, by burning fossil fuels at industrial scales, and dumping carbon pollution into the air. /3
