Today we released research that reveals the political views of #GenZ shows a vast gender divide that will have significant implications for #election2020.

Here are a few major takeaways. #Thread

IGNITE partnered with Dr. Melissa Deckman @MelissaDeckman of Washington College to survey a nationally representative sample of more than 2,200 Americans aged 18-23 in the summer of 2019.

One, for the first time in American history, Gen Z women will surpass their male peers in terms of political engagement. The #politicalpower of these young women will be an asset to candidates who actively engage this demographic.

Two, our data suggests that for #Democrats it would be wise to mobilize this growing cohort, while #Republicans will need to work on a message that is more appealing #GenZ American #voters.

Three, 45% of #GenZ women—including those not in college—said they are “absolutely certain” to #vote in the 2020 presidential elections, with an additional 24 percent indicating they are “likely” to vote.

This data, along with additional findings, suggests #GenZ women will be power-players in 2020. Given their left-leaning tendencies and share of the voting block, they will impact election results and are poised to shape the future of American politics in a #progressive direction.
