Of course, the difference in the Trump administration — as with so many other things — is that the element of good-faith dealing is gone. Trump is doing all of this with no intention of nominating people. This is an all-out assault on the Senate’s constitutional role.
Of course, part two: Mitch McConnell doesn’t care and is just letting it happen. And there aren’t even four Republican senators willing to join the Democrats in making this an issue.
