🤔🤔🤔turns out those 14 people were isolated while on the airplane. This wasn't reported when it first happened. I wonder why? Now we have a report that the "CDC" didn't approve of the move. I'm not sure I agree with the move myself, but...

...it appears that some type of narrative is being spun here. The CDC report is coming from the WAPO so that sends up red flags to me. Not saying it's what is going on but this is how a fake news talki g point starts. Let's see if any of the 300 brought back gets sick first.
Update* from the comments it appears it was reported, I just missed it. I suppose I should have qualified it as "not reported widely". The reports I heard and saw did not report it but I'll admit i didn't do a deep dive on the move and just went off of the MSM articles/headlines.

This is exactly how the fake media creates narratives to change a practice. The NBC reporter most likely just made this shit up out of thin air. He then goes on "air" and shows examples on where this "policy" would work great. The fake media makes it a left/right issue.
Increasing demand for the ability to "fact check" the tweets. Twitter then "caves" to pressure by the media and Bam the fake media are once again gate keepers of information. Just like they were before the internet and social media.
The proper response to this is to call out the fake news reporter and make him prove his story/sources not to allow the fake story to get you are riled up. Again, Twitter denies there is anything like this in the works. The only evidence this is real is the word of a "journalist"

We can tell it was faked without much effort, since the story makes no sense. If we go to Wikipedia for the mainstream gloss, the first clue we get is with the early mention of Marxism.

So, I totally recognize at this point I am in the OLD MAN YELLING AT CLOUDS department when it comes to my feelings about spoilers -- but here is a funny story about GoT spoilers last night.
I don't usually follow along on Twitter for most shows -- though ha ha I want to because the sheer addictive gravity of BUT WHAT DOES MY PHONE SAY RIGHT NOW MY PHONE IS MY TRUE FRIEND is real as hell.
But I've been watching GoT as it airs this season so I figured, sure, I'll check in. Especially as the episode was turning into (for me) a bit of a grind. Exciting, but also a veritable sausage grinder of DARK DARK DARK THE DEAD DARK DEATH DEAD THE DEAD THE DARK etc.

Turns out most people really want to do a good job. Software ownership leads to better outcomes, and people crave autonomy and agency by default.

So if your team is against the idea, either you're fucking something up (messaging, incentives) or they have a lot of past trauma.
Honestly, these days I don't hear from many developers who don't want ownership. I hear more often that devs want it but ops won't let them have it.

Which tells me we haven't been including ops enough in our storytelling and sales pitch. 🤔
I get it. For those of us who have been ops-ing for years, on call is an identity, a cultural lodestone, a shared trauma that defines who we are -- why we matter.

We are the watchers on the wall, the fire that burns against the cold, etc. It's powerful shit.
