Coronavirus cases increase in #Iran. 3 in Qom, 1 in Arak, 5 suspected transferred to Tehran. Lack of transparency about how & when virus entered & spreading & why public wasn't informed earlier is infuriating Iranians afresh.
2/ Iranians saying they don't trust public health officials statements about coronavirus outbreak.
Because? The regime lied & covered up shooting down passenger airplane for 3 days.
3/ Compounding the anger is Iranian carrier Mahan Airlines still operating flights to & from China with little oversight from public health officials. Long after most countries have suspended flights from China.

I have a simple question on polling.

If, in fact, polls are random, WHY is the dramatic oversample ALWAYS on the Democrat side? Why, despite controlling the White House, Senate and large majority of State Houses, do Republicans consistently represent only 24-26% of the sample?
If, in fact, as polls consistently "find," Republicans represent only 24-26% of the electorate and Independents, who clock in at 40% oppose Trump 2:1 - HOW is Trump president?
How is it that Trump won Independents by 4 points in 2016, yet by inauguration day, Gallup all all other pollsters claimed Independents now opposed him 2:1?

Have Independents EVER been 40% of turnout? No, not even close. And yet, they are always sampled as such.

We already know how @SecPompeo's speech will be received by ordinary #Iranians. The sentiments are clear in nationally-representative opinion polling from January, when protests broke out across #Iran. These speeches are a sideshow for real mobilization.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given its actions on the nuclear deal and the harsh reapplication of sanctions, nearly 70% of Iranians believe that the Trump administration's policy towards #Iran is "completely hostile." The figure is probably even higher now.
Importantly, journalists actually bothering to speak to Iranians in #Iran are also getting this clear message today.

I think it’s worth a Thread.
This thread captures history from various perspectives all blended together to reveal a fuller picture.

It shows that Saro-Wiwa was also human like any of us but he was exceptionally courageous and dogged in spite of his human flaws.
Saro-Wiwa was a diminutive man who invariably always smoked a pipe and was considered quite brilliant.

He wrote a popular play which was adapted for TV when we were younger “Basi and Company”.

He was from Ogoni - an oil-producing area in Rivers State which has several villages.
