SHORT THREAD ON PUBERTY BLOCKERS:

1/ There is no evidence puberty blockers are "fully reversible" as there are no long term studies of children who have used them to stave off puberty during the normal pubertal development window and subsequently came off them.
2/ Claims of reversibility are simply made up. Puberty blockers were developed to prevent "precocious puberty" which is a rare condition that causes children, expecially girls, to begin puberty at a very young age (age ~6).
3/ Beginning puberty this early results in subsequent growth defects and skeletal abnormalities. Children showing signs of precocious puberty are commonly placed on puberty blockers to prevent puberty from occurring so early.
4/ These children are then taken off blockers around the time pubertal onset would normally occur for most adolescents (age 11-12). There are no reported side effects for this being done, because this treatment simply prevents puberty from occurring at an inauspicious time.
5/ There is no data, however, on what happens when children are placed on puberty blockers to forgo puberty during the window when puberty *normally* occurs while the body is still developing and growing in other ways.
6/ Activists are ignorantly/dishonestly using the "no side effects" finding in the context of precocious puberty to claim there are "no side effects" in the off-label use of blocking puberty during the normal developmental window of purported trans kids.

This is a dangerous lie.
