Shea is one of the subjects in the excellent podcast Bundyville. The willingness of the GOP to protect him (without a single dissenting vote) is just gobsmacking.
In other west coast GOP news, it's looking like the Oregon GOP Senators might once again flee the state to deny a quorum so as to prevent a vote on the cap and trade bill. Several GOP senators said they've bought tickets and their bags are packed. spreaker.com/user/oregonpub…

In 1993 I was reading "The Minutemen and Their World," a classic work on the American Revolution, on a plane. The middle-aged white guy sitting next to me looked at the book and pointedly asked "that's not one of those [sneer] *revisionist* history books, is it?"
We've always been at war with EastRevisionism.
If I remember correctly, I took advantage of the situation to share with my seatmate a cool factoid I'd just learned from the book--that about 1/3 of all first births recorded in Concord in the revolutionary era were conceived out of wedlock. I'm all about the small victories.

Yes, it’s just one poll. No I’m not saying Bernie will definitely win Wisconsin. But why do I hear so many pundits pronouncing definitively about which Dem is more electable? They’re all almost equally electable in most polls (or within the margin of error).
So how about pundits start future tripping about election results which won’t happen until November and instead talk about issues that matter to voters because they have real impacts on our lives?

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s assertion that “the Iranian regime’s use of #terrorism as a tool of statecraft makes it fundamentally different from any other government” is fundamentally incorrect.
The public record alone shows that other governments use clandestine violence overseas, including in ways that fully qualify as international terrorism under the terms of the same U.S. law that created the FTO list.
Pakistan does it.

Russia does it.

Israel has a long record of doing it, including nasty operations such as car bombs in urban streets that kill innocent passers-by as well as the intended target.
