Leftoid hacks discover a massive, predatory bank thinks what they think, and yet they still think they are on opposite sides.

I guess it's too much to expect a useful idiot to have an epiphany.
It's extraordinary when you think it through...

"Hey, guys, look at this... All our enemies agree with us. That means we're right, right?"
This self deception has been going on since at least Naomi Klein's tomes on "disaster capitalism". But all the evidence was there since at least the time of the Enron scandal.
I mean, this has been going on for a long time. The green-left's designated enemies have been agreeing with the green-left for most of the last 20 years.

But they couldn't see it. theguardian.com/environment/20…
That article is 16 years old to the day.

That's nearly as old as Greta.
NB: 'Pentagon: " Britain will be ‘Siberian’ in less than 20 years"'.

4 years left.
Over those years, I've seen many greens take this as cementing their understanding -- *proof* of their perspective.

Yet they continue to imagine themselves as opposed to the Pentagon and predatory capitalism.
I'm struggling to find a historical analogy. But it's so crazy.

Certainly, it's like anti-capitalists not even asking where their pay cheques were coming from, but obsessing over where everyone else's pay cheques were coming from.
They drew pretty charts of the connections between everyone they imagined to be their enemies.

But they never asked "but what are connected to?"
According to his bio, Laurie Macfarlane is economics editor @openDemocracy, fellow @IIPP_UCL, ex-economist @NEF, and trustee @TheFinanceLab.

Remarkable achievements. Yet he never stared at the blob paying him for longer than a second.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab Do they really think that, when the coal, gas and oil is taken away from people that people power will finally wrestle power from the evil corporations?

Yes, they do. They are that thick.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab Q, leftoids...

*HOW* are you going to get to your protests?
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab A. You're not. And neither is anyone else. Because you'll all be too poor, too hungry and too cold. There will be no public transport to service you, and none of you will have cars, and even if you did the fuel would be too expensive.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab Only extremely clever people can be so stupid.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab If there is a conspiracy, its crowning achievement will be remembered by historians as the installation of green-left academic-activists to completely neuter the intellectual caste, rendering it incapable of thought.

But I rather think that class led its own decline.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab If you like long reads on this subject, here's one of mine from 2014 on the "thinking" of Rupert Read, of XR fame, who would properly be called Rupert Can't Read.

climate-resistance.org/2014/06/why-do…
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab I've seen it offered as a gotcha many times: "Oh, look the smelly hippies of this security agency/bank/etc are worried about climate change". This seemingly dismantles the 'deniers' conspiracy theories. But it doesn't.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab As the long read attempts to show, critics of the green agenda, and paradoxically, especially those seemingly from the economic right, are under no misapprehension about the nature of capitalism and capitalists.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab Here is the TL;DR.

The Libertarians/Austrian-schoolers of the time I knew were not arguing for bailouts, or for a financial sector free of restraints.

Some of them were arguing for hangings.

It is in the green-left tendency to *imagine* what their counterparts argue for.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab That's not to argue for, and to take sides with the anarcho-capitalists. It is to point out that the green-left has taken no care to understand the debate whatsoever. That it is preocuppied (no pun intended) with its own fantasies and demonology.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab Taking no care to understand what putative "deniers" say about climate change and regulatory interventions, and the same failure to understand arguments about the management of the economy turns out to be the tendency of people who are very well-funded by banks and billionaires.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab Oh, and also governments.

But they obsess about pennies on the $million flowing in the opposite -- i.e. 'wrong' -- direction.

It's like some kind of blindness to movement.
@openDemocracy @IIPP_UCL @NEF @TheFinanceLab Anyhow, this is too long a thread.

Point is, if you didn't already know that climate policy has the fingerprints of organisations like JPMC all over it, and has done since day one, you probably work at a left-of-centre green think tank or academic 'research' unit.
