There’s not a single institution within the government that Donald Trump hasn’t infected or effectively destroyed. This was never about governance or legislation. It’s about dismantling politics as it’s a hindrance to uninterrupted profit and power.
People need to wake up. We’re wading into a post-political era, a time where corrupt-minded authoritarians, unethical corporations, and sanctimonious tech leaders have grown so large and so intertwined with the diseased system that they’re able to disarm it and move beyond it.
Discussions about politics only see a fraction of the picture and represent only a minute part of what’s happening. Voting, sovereignty, the rule of law, institutions of power, all these things are being dismantled as they’re speed bumps to power and profit.
Of course Trump would come after the Supreme Court. It’s the last stop, the last thing that could even slow his agenda. The Court and elections will be attacked relentlessly. He cannot help it. It’s who he is. It’s what this new era is about.
This moment of crisis is what happens after decades and centuries of emphasis on power and profit over progress and democracy. We were always heading this way, we’re just nearing the endgame. This new post-political era is an existential threat. If it wins, there’s no coming back
What I’m talking about, what I’ve been screaming about for four years now, isn’t hyperbole or fearmongering. It’s a snapshot of what’s happening in America and around the world. This post-political movement has been churning and people have been in denial. We’re far down the road
Pretending there’s not a real and present danger with Trump, with Putin, with the cadre of authoritarians lining up their dominos, with corporations growing larger than governments, is only enabling the post-political movement and gifting it room to grow and fester.
