Thank you @DavidSuissaJJ for being the kind of brave editor we need today! As I wrote in my piece, I voted for Bernie in the 2016 primary. Then I saw him accept Linda Sarsour & her bigotry & I thought: oh no. When he spoke at @ISNAHQ in 2019, I saw this book sold in the bazaar.

Any extremism scholar can tell you this book is a Muslim extremist’s nightstand reading. What is Bernie doing speaking at a conference where it is sold? Look at the index entries on “jihad”: “objectives of,” “obligatoriness of,” “raising armies for, by the Islamic state...”

No “jihad” in this book sold at the conference where Bernie spoke is not “spiritual struggle.” It goes on: “rules of warfare in,” “spoils of battle in.”

“Jihad”: “who is obliged to fight in.” Yes: who is obliged to fight. That’s violent jihad.

Then, let’s look up “Jew.”
“the delusions of”
“under the Islamic state”
“jihad against”
Yes. Jihad against. And we have established: it’s violent jihad.

So let’s go to jihad against the Jews. Page 602. “The caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians.”

For all the environmentalists out there, this book sold at the Islamic Society of North America conference where Bernie was cheered, also declares, “It is permissible in jihad to cut down the enemy’s trees and destroy their dwellings.” 🌴🌳🌲🏡🏘

I can hear the protests. It’s just 1 book. In the convention. Let’s go back to Bernie’s boycott of AIPAC over “bigotry” it platforms. What is this then? The convention of Bernie’s Muslim surrogate Linda Sarsour sells a book that sanctions jihad against Jews. Bigotry anyone?

Why do we ignore this bigotry and violent hate? Because oh it’s Muslims? You know how they are? It’s not the Islam of Sarsour & the other Bernie supporters? Well it’s sold where they preach. And. they. know. it. As a Muslim, it’s not okay with me or the @TheMuslimReform.

That’s why I wrote this piece. Only a few within any community will blow the whistle on their own. And in the @TheMuslimReform we will always blow the whistle on sexism, anti-Semitism and hate. We know where the anti-Semitism sits in our community & we won’t stay silent.
