I hope I will be able to express the real intent through my post. I’m not sure if that will go as expected. I’m not worried about the typos or politically correct statements. I’m just going to put this here.. I can’t take this anymore..
Spent most of my time in South india and moved out of the country for a better career. I never wanted to leave and was always proud of my people. The people belonged to all communities. I was born a Christian and had experiences that change my life
I had a decent life. I grew up in one income family and parents had to struggle and gave us a better life. The only thing I ever wished was a Maruti car and Home for my parents. I never wished for anything else. We never even had a bicycle.
We don’t have any regrets but we had traveled in buses and autos and sometimes travelled with family friends. I never could buy a car for my mom but i’m happy I got her a home. That’s how I looked at life and I’ve learned to live with what is available and not go after things.
I was blessed to have friends and people who have helped me grow. Both personal and professional. I don’t have any regrets that I didn’t have a bicycle or car growing up. Most of the families in India would be in the same boat.
We have moved from one house to another as we renting.. everytime we moved, I had new group of friends.. we were always a in the 5km radius so it was possible to meet other friends.
I feel there was a reason we moved from one house to the other.. It started with Pension lane and then Post office, KR nagar, Thokatta, Swarna bharati. That’s 25 years of my life.. I had friends from the Muslim community in KR nagar. The friendship changed my perspective of life
Everyone from the extended family was a bit worried that I spent my time with those friends. I never could tell or ask them to stop the labeling. It was mostly due to the things that were happening around.. there would be some chaos and people would say both sides.
This both sides argument is still the norm even in year 2020. I’m not supporting violence but what do you do when someone tries to kill you or your family? The law says self defense is the right of the individual. I posted earlier on IPC section 96-106 for details
The friends from the Muslim community had stood with me and supported. They never had a problem with my color or faith. They have always given a helping hand to anyone in need. They are taught to give water to people even though they have a different of opinion.
I had experiences and changed my life. there was peer pressure to smoke. Everyone was doing it and was like a status quo or something. remember this friend(irfan) who said if I don’t want to smoke then no one can force. After that no one even offered one.
There are many instances but I will share those later. There was another experience that i stol cannot forget. My friend Irfan has bought a watch. It was a big thing to have a watch with a calculator. It was my birthday and my dad asked if I want I invite my friends for lunch.
I invited my friends and I was happy that we had a good time.. we were heading back to our adda and this friend(irfan) said he Mohan, we didn’t give up a gift.. here is your gift.. he literally removed his brand new watch and gave that to me. He didn’t even think for a Second.
That was the best surprise and it was the best gift I have ever received till that. It was the sheer love for a friend. Experiences like those have changed my thought process and it was not about self and giving was more joyful event. #joyofgiving
Life would never be the same if I had not met these friends. I have respect and i’m thankful for what they had to offer. Life was all about helping others regardless of their race, color, religion. Was proud of my self and my country.. there were riots but we never understood.
The media and political parties always tried to cash on this communal violence.. they used to make it sound like both sides and muslims were to the targets. Even though some of that was in self defense. There is a reason there are damages when a mob is involved.
It’s difficult to control the mob and in that there are many brainwashed and young people. They are after the women from t he Muslim community. They feel they can get away with the sexual violence when they are part of a mob. History tells us that’s the case.
What we are seeing today is the Mockery or justice. The institutions that we were proud are no longer autonomous and government interference has denied justice for the muslims. They have been running from pillar to post hoping the constitution and judiciary will help.
Whenever there was violence, the rest of india has turned a blind eye. They come up with the both sides argument and this attitude is also the reason many cases are still not taken up by the justices. There is so many instances where it’s clear how the riots were started.
There are hundreds of cases pending in the courts. The Muslims are waiting for justice. They are given another date for the hearing. The criminals and perpetrators are out there doing the same thing and instigating violence. What do we expect them to do?
The Muslim community has had to compromise. They were asked to forgive for the crimes on them by people from other communities. The both sides argument has taken lives and further add up to the delays. Aren’t the Muslims humans and don’t they bleed when injured?
How easy to ask the community to forgive but then we continue to let the perpetrators go scott free? The way we have changed things around to accommodate the majority is appalling. The Muslims don’t have anyone. The RW media, supporters are adding more fuel to the fire.
One of the largest populations in the world. Indian Muslims have a special place in our hearts. may sound radical or something. i’m ready to wear a cap and even circumcise. Atleast they will kill me before they kill a real Muslim. Dont have to change my religion to support them
I don’t want to name anyone but those who stood up for Muslims earlier are slowly turning back. Maybe they fear for their life or maybe they fear they will also he booked. Whatever maybe the reason. Be like justice Muralidhar and do not be like the SG Mehta. blood on your hands.
I don’t know how to even express solidarity during these times. I’m just ashamed at myself and my Indian identity.. what is the use of education and what is use of this life. I’m ashamed. Can’t even say sorry coz i’m helpless and nothing I do will help my people.
