@crikey_news These are all from Bettina's fans. Usually I just choose to ignore and get on with the work (see for eg my #LetHerSpeak campaign). But when the mainstream media gives her an open mic, fails to fact-check & fails to offer me any kind of right of reply, I'm not taking it lying down
@crikey_news And nor should I. This shouldn't be the price of doing business. And speaking out against the irresponsible journalism which has led to, & amplified this situation doesn't mean I've lost 'focus'. Part of being a survivor advocate means advocating to eliminate ALL sexual violence
@crikey_news This includes the kind of misogynistic comments and vile abuse which makes it so hard for sexual assault victims and survivors to speak up in the first place.
