@Bhaujan_connect CPI is the oldest of Indian Left parties founded in 1920s. It was split in 1964 to form CPIM because they didn't approve of alliance with INC. CPIM was in turn split to form CPIML in 1969 because the latter didn't approve of the increasingly parliamentary character of CPIM.
@Bhaujan_connect CPIM is the largest one of them currently and is heading the best state government in the country today in Kerala under Pinarayi Vijayan who is a PB (highest body) member of this party. All three parties are mostly aligned in their politics, so we refer to them as Left parties.
@Bhaujan_connect In 1952, CPI was the first leading opposition party in Loksabha and comrade AK Gopalan was the pposition leader in Nehru government. In 1956, Kerala became the first state in the country to have a non-Congress chief minister in comrade EMS.
@Bhaujan_connect The Left front led by CPIM won 60 seats in 2008 Loksabha. They were the largest part of UPA1 after Congress and played a critical role in creating the common minimum programme of that government. From there, they've now fallen to 5 Loksabha seats in 2019.
