This interview and article doesn’t make sense. At all. This is very troubling. Not just annoying.
If the charges were so serious, a DPA would ensure all the serious charges were brought to light. All charges need to be admitted and recorded. Which would have made them public.

What happened instead by refusing to offer a DPA, the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) was forced to prosecute SNC. But the PPSC has been underfunded for minimum 8 years, which is why so many court cases have been withdrawn or plea bargained to minimal charges.
Which is exactly what happened because the clock was running out on Supreme Court of Canada decision to limit time a defendant waited for a trial. Jordan’s Decision.

The time wasted writing the DPA and getting it through house and senate to enactment was not spent preparing this case for trial. The prosecutor responsible for the actual prosecution recommended the DPA, probably because they weren’t prepared and lacked capacity for the trial.
Harper’s cuts to the prosecution budget and limited human resources have resulted in severe corporate knowledge depletion and gaps and an inability to prosecute. A majority of cases are plea bargained. Is this justice?
JWR did not EVER ask for a budget increase to PPSC or advocate to recruit experienced staff to manage the criminal cases. She just ignored it. Charges were laid in 2015.

This is highly suspect. Both JWR and DPP recommend prosecution when it was not a realistic option. Resulting in reduced charges in a plea deal. Predicting the outcome wasn’t difficult. I did, almost a year ago. I don’t even work there. That’s how obvious the expected result was.
But it did cause much damage to PMJT reputation.

This is stinking to high heaven and looks like Harper created impossible roadblocks to hide the crimes committed by SNC from the Canadian public. Because they are directly linked to his party.
